Central locking ?

Morning fellows,

2001 1.9TDI 100PD. When I bought the car the central locking (remote) wasn't working. This was never the issue for me because I am the only one usually in the car. However I've decided to make it work, went out got fresh new battery, replaced them in both keys and...nothing, nada, zilch :no: I've read around and tried some of the "fixes" I've read about but the result was the same.

I would appreciate some guidance here, what can I do to make it work?
