Just noticed...

Featured Replies

I was looking around the fabia Mk1 this weekend and while looking underneath the car I noticed a pipe under the rear O/S (drivers side) plastic wheel arch protector.

It appears to be a fairly thin rubber pipe/tube that doesn't plug into anything, never noticed or seen it before, it's not on the n/s (passengers side), so I thought perphaps it is something to do with the fuel filler flap? Perhaps a drainage hole or breather tube?

Does anyone know what this is?

Sorry no pics, but if you look underneath the rear of the vehicle it is just resting on top of the plastic arch, or at least it is on my car.

Cheers...

Does your car have the factory sunroof? If so, then it may be one of the drain pipes for the rear end of the roof cassette.

No sunroof, factory or otherwise. Was just guessing it might be something to do with the fuel system as it's near the filler flap, can't see where it goes though as it goes up the arch liner, as I say it's not plugged into anything or secured in anyway, just resting on the plastic arch liner. There's no wire inside the pipe so it's nothing elctrical, which is why I was thinking it was some kind of drainage or breather pipe.

Was hoping someone else had seen it and knew what it was as I hate not knowing what something is for. It's not obvious to find, I had to lay down at the back of the car and feel up around the rear bumper and plastic liner and thought hmm, what is that and then checked the other side where there was no pipe.

Try pouring water in the fuel flap area to see if water runs out the pipe if not then its just a breater :)

Cud be fuel over flow pipe? I found mine hanging on the floor I got a thread on it somewhere on here

It's the pipe that comes from the drip hole in the filler neck... just to stop it dripping onto body work..

is it this pipe?

It's the fuel filler drain.
