Fabia oil warning light.

Featured Replies

I bought an x reg Fabia 1.4 8v today and on the way home i noticed the oil can light flashing on the dashboard. Its intermittant going on and off as it pleases. 68000 miles on the clock theres plenty of oil in the engine and its very clean. ( seviced 1500 miles ago . The rocker cover gasket looks like its leaking slightly and the plastic engine cover is missing the centre lock nut meaning the rocker oil cap can come loose. has anybody got any ideas?

I believe from memory of looking in the service manual, a flashing oil light means insufficient oil pressure, which would in theory fall in line with what you're saying about the loose gasket.

Got any warranty to cover your problem??

It really takes a low oil pressure to trigger oil light sensor, unless of course sensor itself is faulty, or some wiring/connection.

Good luck.
