Sorry to bring this thread back to the top again, but I just ordered a complete set of Superpro bushes and superpro dogbone bush. Will try giving it a go at the weekend.

Also bought a 6 tonne press as it was only £40 and can always use it again in the future.

I have downloaded and printed the guides in the tech section to help with the job.

Only question I have unanswered is, as I am going to remove the console are there any specific torque settings for the bolts when I put it back on.

Cheers in advance.

Another question just so I am fully prepared.

I guess I should replace the bolts when I fit the Superpro bushes.

Can someone tell me which bolts and how many of each should be replaced and part numbers if possible.

Cheers

Dealer should know the codes......don't have my invoices to hand....

Defo replace the the main front pivot bolt on the front wishbone (1 per side).....also the bolts to seperate the balljoint plate from the wishbone arm (3 per side, and trinut lockplate 1 per side).....small bolts on rear console reinforcing plate (2 per side)....you can replace the other ones that are dissurbed if need be.... Thanks for the info. I dont suppose anyone has a photo of the rear console showing the small bolts on console reinforcing plate.

Problem being I live Germany and need to order these parts with very bad German. I have printed out pictures of the wishbones etc so I can just point and grunt (Englishman abroad style) at the other bolts I need.

Thanks

Cheers.

You ever thought of going on Mastermind with specialist subject of Skoda Fabia.

In that picture there are 2 bolts. 1 looks like its under the console bush, the other is to the very right of the picture. is it the 4x the bolts to right of picture.

Ok my stupidity. I have worked out which bolts your referring to (as you said can just make them out). Would you advise using loctite on any of the bolts?

Thanks again for all your help.

Not really on the big ones....a bit of "blue" medium strength on all the small ones (the two bolts per side on the black plate on rear of console....and the three on the balljoint to wishbone)... B)

On the big bolts I tend to spray with wd40 and let soak then wipe off...don't want to much on the threads as it will lub them making the actual torque setting too high!!....this is just to prevent total long term seizure.... B)

Hopefully my last post on the matter ( as I bet people are getting bored of the questions).

I have read that its a good idea to put copper grease on the console bush to help push the wishbone in.

Would it be better to use Red grease that you use on brake rubbers or will copper grease be fine.

Thanks again

Copper grease is the main grease to use!.. B)

Ok I lied. Another question.

Picked up all the new bolts etc today from dealers. The 18mm bolt that goes through the front wishbone bush, should it have a nut or does it screw into a thread in the mounting.

Thanks

Doesn't require nut as it screws through the front wishbone bush into the console.......the hole (thread) in the console is open ended...so when removing the old bolt spray lots of penetrating oil in this end!!... B)
