Possible fuel feed issue

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

After some advice or to know if anyone else come across the same fault.

My 2007 PD VRS appears to be suffering from a hesitation when the fuel gets down to a quater of tank. It still revs ok in neutral, but on partial throttle, I can feel a hesitation through the pedals.

I tend to use a variety of fuels, supermarket and normal diesel from various garages, but never tried Ultimate diesel, so may give this a go.

Anyone come across the same isse. Car is showing 40k on the clock, serviced by stelaer at 34k, economy is still around 48-50 and no lights on dash. fault appears to go once taknk is filled up so wondering if filter or fuel feed could be at fault.

Cheers

Could be a sticky EGR valve as this is quite common and gives similar symptoms (Although not specifically at a quarter tank).

Try doing a search on here for EGR and have a read, it may (Or may not) help.

Has it ever had the fuel filter changed? If not its an easy and cheap thing to try first. I can't remember what the official change interval is but I seem to recall its stupidly high, and they can become clogged before then.

Try the fuel filter.. :)
