Hi guys.

New to this forum so want to introduce myself a bit before asking for help.

My names Dave, I'm from Barnsley South Yorkshire. You will probably all hate me for this but im not actually a Skoda owner, I opted for the dark side and went for a vw polo 9n (same thing tho really, lol). Im a member of the polo forums but when asking them for help, they are to put it politely, useless!! After searching google many times in the past for help, I always find myself on Briskoda, which might I add as help me out on so many occasions! I thought id join and maybe try to help people out with the problems and solutions I have come across with the polo.

Any way, ive probably bored you enough with my dribble so here goes.

Currently having the dreaded v68 positioning flap motor heating issue, ive put a second hand revised version motor from a newer car in mine and still seems a bit funny, either hot or cold, no inbetween, I think I need the basic settings performed to sort this, vw want 40 Quid to plug it in but i wondered if any one near me could do it for cheaper? i'll come to you obviousely, help would be much appreciated!!

So to summarise after all the waffle, any one got VCDS near Barnsley?

Is there any chance that any one can enlighten us as to how to set the basic settings?

I'm thinking that if you perform a scan first and the v68 flap motor brings up a code then you will be able to trouble shoot and access basic settings from there, think I read this in the ross tech manual.

Found this on another site though

all faults codes cleared first

08 ac/heating

basic settings

enter 00 channel number

o.k or run

basic settings should now perform,you will here the motors cycle through their min and max positions,all values should read zero at end of function,close controller,turn ign off 15 secs and try from there??

Where abouts in Sheff are you from Andy? Do you know what im on about with the basic settings for flap motor and is it something you would be able to do?

Yes basic settings no problem, I am 5 mins from junc 33 M1
