Increase Washer Fluid Concentration

Featured Replies

Topped my washers up with my usual milder winter mix. 25% Lidl. I noticed the rear washer became much more effective so maybe a partial blockage was cleared with the stronger solution. A bit of ice on the car today and went cautiously on my new Barum summer tyres -it was indicating 3°C in the Peak District.

Last winter I was using washer fluid neat worked well even when it was -12!

I reckon my 25% concentration of Luidl fluid will be OK for -3C or so, which is typical winter weather in NE Derbyshire. I'll up the concentration if we get more severe weather like the bad old days (snow cancelled cricket match in Buxton etc...).

My point is that the stronger concentration of fluid also seemed to clean the rear jets out- a few other posters have had to sort that out.

Is Barum a brand of tyre?

Is Barum a brand of tyre?

Yes, as in 'my new Barum summer tyres' -owned by Continental , which is also a tyre manufacturer. :dull:

I thought Barum was something they gave you in hospital for a scan. emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

as in a barum eminem?

Barum used to be Czech and pre vw days they were the only tyres you got on new skodas

I've got a spare tyre that I don't want. Unfortunately it the one around my middle. emoticon-0106-crying.gif and a knee injury has only helped its expansion! emoticon-0149-no.gif

Alright, it was only a question. Barum could have been a description for all I know, never heard of them.

i have upped my concentration also as we are heading into colder times.

Yup, and fresh dusting of snow this morning. Better go and top up mine
