vrs cam belt interval

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, bought a new fabia yesterday (se no 26)

cars lovely,47k service history but cam belt aint been done-I know its 60k for the belt but i've got every 4 years stuck in my head for some reason but cant find it written down anywhere.

I'll probably get it done anyway (for my peace of mind) but does anyone know what it should be in years?

I've searched on here/handbook/hanyes manual etc but can only find mention of 60k miles

Maybe i just imagined it was 4 years lol!

well its 4 years for the Octavia

And four years for the Fabia too

60k for wear and tear

4 years for deteriation of material

National

It appears it's officially 4 years or 75,000 miles for the BLT engine - check out the mileage intervals for various engine variants here

And HAGGLE - I ws considering going to Unit 18 , as their prices were very reasonnbly , but mine had been sitting for a year ,so I couldn't trust oil /cambelt for the trip .But a quick mention of their prices got a main dealer in line ( THANKS ALI) -once I gave them Unit 18 prices & qualifications , prices tumbled . I' suggest main dealers want trade as in the present climate ,they're getting worried .If you're within reasonable travelling of Milton KEYNES - look them up on the sponsers page .BTW - mine was seven yer old/63k when done -with an off road time of 18 months.Same engine ,ony it ws the 1.4lump

Yep. Shop around.

I got mine done for £250 all in which included the belt, tensioner, water pump and coolant.

I think that is a fair price but you can gt it cheaper still if you really shop around or know somebody who can get you a good price.
