New Yeti owner

Featured Replies

I've been lurking in this forum for a while. Now it's time to join.

This is a wonderful forum, full of helpful advice and largely troll-free.

Got my new Yeti this week. They have just hit the market in Australia. The choice is easy here, with only two models: 77kw TSI front wheel drive or 103kw (140bhp) TDI all wheel drive. It is well equipped - somewhere between SE and Elegance in UK. I got the 103TDI in Malachite green. The only option I added was the Xenon headlights - and after driving rough and windy back roads on Friday night, I'm very glad I ticked that box. The off-road button was included, but is now a cheap option.

The many reviews of the Yeti here have been favourable. Skoda Australia launched it in central Australia, with a tough route along the rugged Finke River 4WD track. (The Finke is a part-time river, but said to be the oldest in the world.) Most journalists were impressed at how capable it was on such a challenging track, even though (amazingly) Skoda increased the tyre pressures instead of dropping them, as any four-wheel-driver would have done. (Google "Skoda Yeti" and "Finke" if you want to read more.)

So, I'm glad to be here.

As I'm on call for work at 5am may I be the first to say welcome to Briskoda from a fellow Yeti owner
