MDI cable / iPhone 4

Featured Replies

I tried asking this on the Fabia II forum but no response - so thought I'd try a wider audience.

How do you select a specific album to play from beginning to end on the stereo? When I connect it up it simply plays the songs in alphabetical order - first up is A-Bomb in Wardour Street, and great as it may be, I'm getting a bit fed up listening to it :giggle: !

It's further complicated if I have Bluetooth on - it starts to play, then there's a beep, then PHONE appears on the display - the track appears to continue to play, but with no sound.

Try using the Mix function or better still use the built in player on the phone.

I use MDI with my Ipod & I only have 5 complete albums (Jean-Michel Jarre) and I either program it with playlists or just let it play in sequence.

Will nip out to the car and give it a bash - you are indeed an evening star  .

Ok - discovered you need to set up a Playlist via iTunes. After doing this I managed to get the Playlist to play the album (in track order) but only by accident as no idea how I managed it!

Now only need to learn how to navigate the Playlists on the Swing! I'm almost at the point of giving up and just buying an aux cable.

Edited to add: just been read the Swing radio 'manual' (all seven pages of it) and the few lines about MDI in page 111 of the owner's manual (both eff all use!) - however, discovered there is the option to playback via Bluetooth, so at least I don't need an aux cable.

Hi Brian, Sorry to see you are not getting too far with this.

If you want to get to the playlists from the swing unit...

Toggle the info button until you see the browse option on the screen, INFO > BROSWE > TOP

Then with the right knob you will be able to scroll podcast/album/artist/playlists.

If you go the bluetooth route, hold the end of the rocker switch for MDI...

ROCKER > PHONE > BLUETOOTH > MEDIA PLAYBACK... or something along that way.

If not you can do it on the voice control.

If you listen to her suggestions, i think you can ask for "media" (in your strongest scottish accent)

Hope this helps some

 Cheers Martyn - went for the Bluetooth route - no problems there - totally straightforward.
