Sat Nav question

Featured Replies

I've got the Amundsen sat nav in my car and wanted to know anyone else with it did you get a CD with the Nav on it?

Mine only come with a SD card with the nav installed on it, its only now i've been told its a CD based system and it should come with the Nav on a CD and you then have the ability to copy it to an SD card!

I wonder what the dealer is doing with the CD's :wonder:

I had Amundsen+ so it was stored on an internal drive but to my knowledge you should get a CD because yes you can copy it into an SD card if you wanted.

Hmmm seems they are keeping the CD's for themselves, i'll have to ring them tomorrow

Hi you should get either the SD card or discs not both, I have the new discs as the previous Amundsen didn't have a 7digit postcode capability, so created a **** storm for skoda , trading standards n stuff, so the cd cost a fortune the SD cost no money to produce, each disc once loaded into your satnav is instantly assigned to the unit so cannot make copies for others ;)

Ah right, well its not a genuine SD card just a cheap one they have used. Why would they keep the disc if its no use to anyone else? i think they may be keeping the original CD's and maybe putting illegal/copied stuff on the SD's

Dealer will have been issued with a sat nav disc to make copies of , apparently the dealer has to pay for discs so this way just makes copies on to SD so no issues regarding making disc copies
