Noisy Fan...Fabia mk2

Featured Replies

Hi All.

1. Wonder if someone has the same issue and knows how to resolve it. When I set my fan speed control on position 1 (even if the air con is ON or OFF - I have only standard Air Con unit) and driving my car to or from work the faster I drive the noiser my fan gets (the sound comes from under the dash on the passenger side where you usually keep your legs) and I found this really annoying, however when I switch it off the annoying fan sound dissapears

2. I also found out (especially during the colder weather conditions) that even if my fans are off I'm still felling a very hot (reasonably hot) air from 2 sides (drivers and passengers). Is this something to do with car or air con trying to demist my windscreen etc..??

Any advice or help is much appreciated

Thanks, Matty

1. It happens to mine but with time it has become quieter. Not sure if there is an easy fix but even with my MK1 I had the same issue.

2. Happens to all Fabias including mine, the air still circulates even if all dials are switched off - don't know why but hope someone can give us an answer.

the position you are describing is where the pollen filter is... I would suggest a leaf or something like that has got in and is sitting on the pollen filter... when was the last time you had it changed?

anyway , my suggestion for a potential fix, would be new pollen filter

or possibly a leaf stuck in the blower unit or even just a noisey blower unit (I.e noisey bearing)

Hi Guys

Thanks for the replies. I had a full service on my Car in August and the pollen filter was replaced as well. Do you reckon I should check the filter and see if there are any leaves of dirt stuck to it..????
