Hello everybody, tried to buy a new roomster 1.2 tsi dsg but told wait of 6 months. So bought ex Skoda company car sight unseen off Ebay. Very pleased so far apart from, where is the 59MPG promised. Best I can get is 49MPG, still it's better than the previous car.

Hi and welcome aboard.

welcome along

Hello there Roomy and welcome along

Hello there - hang in there with the MPG it will come eventually!

where is the 59MPG promised. Best I can get is 49MPG
The figures are 39.2mpg Urban, 58.9mpg Extra Urban and 49.6mpg Combined. So it sounds like the 49mpg your are achieving is bang on. The only way to get a higher figure is to drive on a flat road at 56 mph (the speed figure that used to be quoted for best mpg). I still think it is good that you can achieve more than 500 miles on a tank of fuel, I think the Roomy is the first petrol car I have owned that can do this :)

thanks for the welcome folks. perhaps I was spoiled by my previous car, a Yaris 70mpg diesel mmt. but the roomster seems 25% bigger, certainly more comfortable. we chose it for its rear legroom as we like to picnic . I still cannot believe it is only 1.2 litre!

Welcome roomy, yeah that 1.2 engine is pretty awesome
