Alarm problems

Featured Replies

Hi all

This is major frustrating as i had the same problem with my Mk4 Golf. A few weeks back my rear washer jet blocked and iv been meaning to get round to unblocking it but its abit late now :(

The alarm keeps triggering due water from the rear washer leaking onto the micro switch and making it think its open, when it happened on my golf i had it sorted within a day but its only just started doing it at 6:00pm so i cant go get new parts to repair, is there anyway i can get around this without having to leave the car unlocked? (to be honest if the answer is no, i know where ill be sleeping tonight!)

Ok scrap that WHOLE idea...just been to check over the car (yes im sorry i did put this down before actually looking) the boot is completely dry, no signs for leaking water :S

Just ran through the CCTV i have and it does just keep going off at its own accord (just making sure that no kids are setting it off)

What else could set it off?

Disable the interior sensor when you lock it. Also open and close all the doors, bonnet, hatch and windows and check they are fully closed.

The interior sensors, is that disabled by the little button on the b pillar? (divers)

Yes, press the button before locking the car, or just double press the lock button on the key fob:

1st press: Arm the alarm including the activation of the interior sensors.

2nd press: Deactivates the interior sensors.

If the alarm continues to go off you know it is one of the door/boot/bonnet sensors.
