Hehehe ... I guess in future, a lot of people will show off, telling

I saw the advert on TV for this Chevvy Matiz... When they get the 5.7L V8 in one, I might bother to bat an eyelid. ;)

ehh you know ever here that pile of ......................... "truck suppository' was FREE with the top of the range ............yawn forgot what it it now LOL

buy the posh looking one and get the handbag on wheels for free! good deal? no they are very small crap and silly looking large crap!

what have Chevvy done putting their badge on this crud?

korea should keep them !

That's funny...the Matiz I know of, which exactly the same one in the pic, is a Daewoo, not a Chevvy

If they get a v8 into this little machine, it would kill a lambo...I'm sure ud do more than bat an eyelid:)

Careful now, I can think of another make of car that had jokes about it being a skip and then they got taken over by a larger company with a very nice parts bin :D

It's a rebadging exercise...Daewoo wasn't considered to be a strong enough brand but Chevrolet is, apparently.

I don't really see what the problem is...the Matiz is a dirt cheap small car for people who don't really care about their car. As such, I'd be surprised if anyone on this here vehicle-enthusiasts forum thought it was any good.

However, it does fulfil a requirement, and it does it very well...

Rob.

Just a laugh!! but it is down on record that a Matiz was caught speeding at 105 mph

I wonder if they actually think this rebranding will trick anyone? To my mind, it just devalues the Chevrolet brand, but then I wasn't going to buy one anyway.

The main problem with these cars is they're terrible value for money: You can get a basic proper car for the money they're asking. A Fabia with aircon, ABS etc can be had for under 7k, which makes the Matiz just look sillier.

I started singin,

"bye-bye miss american pie."

Drove my chevy (matiz) to the levee,

But the levee was dry.

Them good old boys were drinkin whiskey and rye"

Nope.Doesn't work for Don McClean :nono:

The Chevy I was in when in the US had an interior on par with that of a Matiz ie. cheap plastics, rattly dash and not well put together, plus the engine felt like it was phoning through to head office for approval every time you put the pedal down, 'one moment please'... 30 secs later 'yes that's fine, go ahead and accelerate...' so not really a step forward for Daewoo if you ask me...

Wasn't the change because Daewoo's car factory was bought by GM? They're not called Daewoo any more because that's not the name of the company that makes them.

Having said that, like Daewoo,

They've been owned by GM for a while haven't they, and had bought the company last time it went bankrupt? Thought that was why most of their previous models had been based on old Astras and the like...

Rob.

Not really. Daewoo made GM-based cars long before GM bought them. The GM takeover wasn't until 2002. I seem to remember they waited until Daewoo was in dire trouble in order to get the company for the lowest possible price.

I would have loved, if things had gone vice versa

What about a "Daewoo Corvette" ? :rofl::rofl::rofl:

My grandparents have a Matiz, it's a cracking car for what they need. Lots of room compared to their old Metro, easy to park, cheap on fuel, cheap on insurance and only cost them

Strangely Chevrolet makes some truly cr*p cars in the US, and also some which are pretty nice. It's one of those brands I suppose.

from what i've' seen and been looking at it wont be long b4 VW use skoda as nothing more than a dresign house and to build the smaller cars VW cant be arsed with ... polo for example! in fact VW have not built a single sodding polo since 1987!!! but all the same that badge and all that!

The Polo is built by VW but in Spain, not Germany.

As far as I know, the only Czech-built Skoda to have a VW badge was a pick-up based on the Felicia.

older polos are seat (err upto ???)

new ones are slovenia 0.................

its all skoda to me :) anyway not VW thats a fact not since the felicia AKA polo
