Leaky doors.. Not the carrier?

Featured Replies

..

I'm pretty sure my carrier is water tight... I've re sealed it... I'm also confident my technique is good because the other doors have lasted over 2 years now... This is the 3rd time I've done the drivers door.

So.. I noticed the other day that my seal was damp again.. Not pooling water on top of it.. but just wet where it had been against the metal of the door.. I'd always assumed this was the carrier leaking down the door and sitting between the 2 but not leaking enough to pool..

But the other day I realised the wet part was also halfway up the seal on the vertical parts.. almost up to to the lock level.

I can't see how that could be the carrier....

Has my rubber door seal given up? Or does my car have Rising damp, lol.

*sigh* Ignore me...

Drivers side now nice and dry in heavy rain, but passenger side leaking like a sieve..

Never sealant sealed it after fitting a new carrier.. the new "OEM" seal has lasted a whopping 2 years for reference...

Pass the sealant gun lads.
