fuel pump not pumping

Featured Replies

folks

Having problems with a fabia that's been in storage for a few years.

so new fuel in the tank 25L of it  new fuel fitted. so before i fitted the fuel filter i attached a plastic jar to the black feed hose that would enter the filter. The idea being if i could flick the ign switch i could prove the fuel pump is actually pumping. so done this expecting the container to fill up and nothing!! Fuel pump dead? the electrical supply to the fuel pump is giving 10-12v when the ign is switched on.

Any ideas? Cheers

Few car details may help

Hoses disconnected at the filter.

Electric supply ok at the fuel pump and sender unit when the ignition is switched on.

No noise coming from the pump although and no fuel being pumped out of the tank into the feed hose.

So i'm assuming the pump aint working if the electrical supply is ok and no fuel is being pumped out of a full tank of petrol.

:)
