Another Wiper Problem

Featured Replies

right i have done the search and read the posts about wipers, but mine doesn't fit with any.

Problem;

Wipers work fine every time do not jerk or go slow (all speeds) during the day front and rear, but when left over night the only start to work after about two mins of car been started.

Replaced the wiper relay, wd40 the wiper splines and sprayed copper slick on all the lineage joints. Checked the rear wiper motor for water but none.

Disconnected rear wiper today to check in the morning for the fault again to eliminate the rear wiper motor.

HELP!!!!

Its not the rear wiper. Just been out to the car and it still does the same with the rear motor disconnect.

If the car has been running (and the wipers work after approx 2 mins), and then you stop the car and restart it do you have another 2 minute wait, or do they work immediately the second time around?

I am thinking maybe a sticky relay. Do other functions from the wiper stalk still work in the 2 minute window of non wiper action - such as the washer jets?

once the wipers start they work all day first time on start up. Relay was replace with a brand new one from Skoda this week. The stalk works the rear wiper ok and all other functions work on the stalk.

Which relay was replaced?

the wiper relay the one behind the OBD2 port mine was a 377 relay but that was superseded by the 603 relay. Wipers do the same with both relays
