dogbone small bush

Featured Replies

hi there guys,i noticed that my dog bone doesn't have those small bushes in front and now i'm planning to upgrade the large main bushes at the back to powerflex ones, question is do i have to put the small ones in as well or upgrading the main one will do?thanks to everyone..

Not really, I just replaced the big one, makes a hell of a difference.

If the small one needs replacing then just fit an oe spec one.

I fitted a small one when I did mine as it was knacked really easy to fit the polybush, oe bush looked a nightmare to fit dunno what difference it made as I fitted an uprated main bush at the same time lol

i rang skoda about the oe one but they said they only sell the dogbone as a whole so where can i get that bush only?

Think it was from Ebay under a tenner

hi excuse the ignorance I'm normally quite well up on mechanical issues but firstly what and where is the dogbone? The reason I ask is i'm very new to skodas and also the car I just bought has a slight judder pulling away sometimes taking up the bite, very slight but there. I read else wear that the 'Dogbone' bush can be a cause of this. What da ya think?

Cheers Phil

I'm glad I found this thread, I'm going to change my bush tomorrow, I got the powerflex one from Awesume

The one thing I don't have is does anyone know the torgue for the bolt that goes through the bush to hold it together?

There was no instructions in the box, I can see from the 2 bush parts that its simply a matter of getting the old one out, and putting the 2 pieces in and put the bolt in to hold them together, but no idea how much to tighten it.

Cheers Raf that's what I needed and can see why its called the 'dogbone' now. Any ways to check that its worn other than looks and grabbing and pulling as this i always feel is subjective when I dont know what how much it should flex from new given I hear they are soft even when new?
