Aux Input for Stream MP3

Featured Replies

I have had a car kit installed on my Octavia. When the installer had the radio out I asked where I should put the cables to create an Aux input. This is due to my car not having the central column. He looked and said there are already wires in place for this.

My question is, does anyone know where they would feed out to, as they don't seem to go under the handbrake?

I want to see if I can put something on the end, but cannot locate where they are. Although they are definitely plugged into the back of the stereo

Thanks helpful people

If you've not got jumbo box (arm rest) have a look in the glove box.

Cheers buddy, but....

There is no central column, jumbo box etc. It must be feeding to somewhere, but I'm not sure where. Hoping someone that fits the add on might be able to tell me where it ends up

Just looked in the glove box. It only has the air bag on-off or the air con thing to chill out the glove box to store food in on long journeys emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif

Where in the glove box (although it isn't a big glove box) should it be located? left or right, top or bottom

I've read around this subject when I bought my Octavia. Two years on I still haven't bothered sorting it out. The search facility on this site is now very difficult to use since there are so many posts - but the instructions must still be there.

As far as I could see from others' experiences: there are three pins on the back of the radio ready (and marked so) for left / right and ground to go to an AUX IN socket. You could use this yoke or buy VAG wires and make up your own.

Once fitted there is a menu item on the radio to enable Aux in.

However - no "Jumbo bo" no AUX IN.

This is the whole point my friend. I went to the back of the stereo, and there's already a connection to the Aux in 3 pins. I have no Idea where the cable is going to though. I thought maybe it is cabled ready to add the jumbo box or if a customer asks for it as an add on. But I was hoping maybe Tech1e or someone might know where the cable ends up.

Cheers for your input though buddy
