Faulty xbox contoller

Featured Replies

I'm now on my 3rd xbox (the first one went back, the second one got rebuilt, and this is my third) and It seems to have a problem with the wireless controller losing connectivity every two minutes or so, and it displays a message saying 'please reconnect the controller'

It is the new xbox, and I've only had it for 2 months.

Is there a simple fix/remedy, or should I take it back to the shop?

Thanks

Damon

Erm. Change the batteries?

In all seriousness, my lad's does this when the controller batteries are very low.

My wired ones do this sometimes too - but they reconnect instantly. I think the wire is damaged slightly as it does it on other consoles. You tried another console too see if it's that or the 360? Unless it's the original controller of course!

Wireless ones do this when low on batteries, and the lights flash on the orb-button-thing.

(Martin, did that HDD turn up OK?)

Hi Joe, sorry yes it did. Many thanks! Sorry I should have let you know.

No worries, just curious. :)

Right, back on topic. . .

I've literally only played on the console for 2 hours from new - surely the batteries aren't run out already? The indicator bar is fine.

I shall try new batteries, and see how it goes

The batteries it come with a terrible!

That could well be the problem then

Also, try and re-pair it with the console

Whipped some fresh batts in and it works a treat!

The old ones that came with it were Duracells, the same that I replaced them with just now, but perhaps they were dodgy :dull:

Cheers all :)

Might have been sat in non-ideal conditions for a while, or just duds!

Glad it's fixed!
