vRS vs. 911

Featured Replies

Raced a 911 in my standard Furby vRS today. Lost. :thumbdwn:

Why? You should have nailed him! LOL tried a ferarri 575 M in my olf pug 106 once!

...

Left it in neutral! (otherwise would have had him!)

I have already challenged my dad to a blast over the Peaks to see which is better cross country. He has a 996 Carrera 4 Cab. I don't think he could loose me TBH. I have raced loads of 911's in my Volvo, and only the turbo's and the GT range are out of reach - everything else just got in my way - lol :)

 Lovin it, you sound truly disappointed with the Furb's performance!!!

On the PH meet, I lost to one as well :(

Standard I doubt it would keep up. Remapped however I'm not quite so sure.

The real difference though I'd imagine would be with pure grip & braking performance - I guess it all depends on how old the car is?

Either way, you'll have good fun :D

A remapped one will still not get close to a 911 IMHO.

The one I had a go at, it beat me, but I guess I was quite surprised it didnt completely maul me, or maybe he wasnt trying (I was :D).

heheheee  fair enuf :D

Mine's standard anyway, must admit I'd like to try one that's standard but has the strut brace though.

It depends on the 911...a non-turbo would whup the Fabia vRS. A turbo would annihilate it. ;)

Not really sure how a fairly weighty shopping car with 180ish-bhp would be expected to compete with a sportscar with at least 325bhp either. :D

Apart from the shopping car bit :P I have to say I agree.

I thought the furby vRS could beat everything on the road? Well apart from the real vRS

[scoobynet mode] Bet you could have had him in the twisties though. [/scoobynet mode]

I certainly wasnt expecting the Fabia to do anything much in that situation ;) and it was a non turbo. God knows what the Turbo would have done

I drive a remapped Furby vrs and i'm very pleased with its performace and handling. It the best new car I have owned coming from 2 Golfs 4s and puma 1.7 prior to that.

However, I drove the 996 turbo around a track last year and there is no way on this earth that a furby will get anywhere close to any varient of a modern 911, on the twisties, on the straight or in-gear accearation.

Funny thread!

Muppets!

I don't see why you lot even bother racing Porsches, seems a bit silly to me, no diesel Skoda could ever beat a 911, oh no, not ever, so there :haha:

David could never beat Goliath either!

It's always the underdog that comes out on top - I did 44.6mpg that journey

Exactly! Doesn't matter if he zoomed past you while you were racing, as long as you keep the speed up you'll always pass him again once he has to pull in to get more petrol!!!

Spot on .Tortoise and the hare and all that ;)

Mind you,you do feel a fool if you have chewed something up,spat it out and then that vauxhall viva pootles up behind you at the next junction.I can't even look in the rear view mirror when that happens :o

Yeah, them Justys are tough competition for my SDI :D
