Fabia 2 or Roomster

Featured Replies

Seat comfort a discussion point between my wife and myself. Opinions, please if a Roomster has a higher and therefore more comfortable front seat position.

Current Fabia 2 level 2 is OK by me but when I change should I consider Roomster or Yeti, will be used, approx £8-10,000.

The Roomster is the front half of a Fabia II glued onto the back end of a van/Octavia.

So everything from the B posts forward (including the front seats, bodywork, interior etc...) is pure Fabia II.

The Yeti is better as it's based on the Octavia with higher ride height. It has better seats, although personally I find the Fabia II ones fine.

If you go for SE spec or greater on the Yeti the interior is generally nicer. But there is a fair difference in cost over a Fabia/Roomster so it should be!

I think they are the same but I don't bet my head on it. In my car co-driver's seat can't be height adjusted, but i (we) prefer roomster than fabia because rear seats are indeed a bit higher to provide better view to rear passengers and of course there is more leg room for rear passengers and due to rear door's big windows the cabin is more shiny. And when you have to carry two little boys all these are pros.

Roomster's rear axle is identical to Octavia's and that's why the car is a bit wider at the back and that's why it has a great handling. Also has bigger boot space than both Fabia and Yeti.

If you are just the two of you pick a Fabia, I like her shape more than Roomster's, on the other hand Roomster is eccentric. Before children comes to our family we owned an 1.6 MK1 Petrol Octavia and a 1.2 MK1 petrol Fabia. Of course crisis did her job too.

In the Fabia II both front seats are height adjustable.

They are in mine anyway, exactly the same as the Roomster I borrowed from my local dealer. Same seats.

Mine is the basic trim level. In Greece is called Style. I don't know what is happening in a higher trim level. And of course there are differences at trim levels between countries. Weird policy. My car's specs are :

ABS+MSR+Dual Rate

4 air bags

Rear disc brakes

MFD instrument panel

Trip Computer

Regular headlights (H4 bulbs)

4 el. windows

Climatic

Dance Blues Mp3 Radio unit - 4 speakers

Arm rest

Roof rails

195/55/15 steel wheels.

Remote Key Fob with window operation.

Just sold my Roomster and bought Fabia II

Front seats give similar comfort and height. Difference begins from B pillar.

If you need great luggage compartment, go for Roomster.
