Size of estate boot with variable floor?

Featured Replies

Anyone know the litre-age of the Octy Estate boot when it has the variable boot floor in place (ie the space above the floor)? Just wondering as I'm getting a company car and I'm wondering if what we have at the moment in our Scout with the VBF is similar to the size of some of the estates I have the choice of (alas Skoda isn't on the list - booo).

Thanks.

The VBF takes about 4 inches away from the floor area, effectively giving you a flat loading area. That space is not lost though, as the floor can be positioned in different ways depending on load. if left flat its still possible to store items beneath the floor as long as they are not to thick.

I've got all sorts under my floor but the boot looks empty! Plus all the bits don't roll around. I've a long commute so always have boots, jumper, waterproofs, gloves, pump, big torch, little torch, some food and water etc.

For many people it is the width or the length of the boot that is significant. Easy to check with a tape measure or consult an Autocar road test. The capacity in litres may be in brochures but unless you sell cartons of orange juice may be of lesser concern???

Ah yes, I have the vbf and find it very useful. It was more out of interest as I have test driven an Audi A4 Avant, but it is quoted as having a significantly smaller boot (490 litres vs over 600 for the Octy), but I wondered if with the vbf in place the space above the vbf was similar to that of the Audi that doesn't have it. If not I'll end up just getting a Passat! It was more out of interest than anything scientific.
