Dirty VRS?

Featured Replies

Trying to decide on colours with the kids by looking through the pinned photo thread and have come to the conclusion that they all look great when freshly cleaned and polished. Ours, however, will sit outside, be used for the school/shopping run while our main car will be kept in the garage. What surprised me was that the green and blue cars with white wheels look so good - I would never have considered them.

So, which colour/wheel/roof combinations look best dirty?

I think you've answered your own question there! I might add in the grey one, and my red one doesn't look too bad dirty, just very dull...

lol... white wheels look terrible dirty! here's mine clean...

and dirty ;)

first time I had it serviced, and they cleaned it, the service manager said, and I quote "I didn't know it had white wheels.." :giggle:

Have to say our red Monte with black roof looks just brilliant when clean but has to be the worst colour combo of the lot if not kept that way. Red just looks so dull when not at its best and as for black!!! Have to say that the anthracite grey alloys are pretty good at not showing the dirt though. A lot better than those white things above anyway.

slightly biased here but white car/black wheels looks the best when clean

i use the word when loosely as it rarely is, absolute nightmare just now so roll on the summer when all the blood from the bugs gives it some nice red splashes

Buy the color you like dirty or not.

You're probably right. I fancy white with black wheels but the kids saw the (clean) picture of sharkrider's car and were sold. Thanks for posting the dirty pic - it might change their minds :).

Avoid white. Getting to many now :)

:) To be honest I don't really care that much about colour - I leave that to the wife and kids. Spec, however does matter to me and means that I'll probably have to order. I've been quoted between 8 and 16 weeks depending on who I'm talking to. They all get their cars from the same place don't they?

when I was going to order new, I was going to have blue with dark chrome alloys, then I saw the green one with white wheel in the flesh in the showroom, and fell for the colour, looks fantastic clean!, but then they all look dull dirty ;)

skoda rally colours, green and white

Nice. I think white cars look good dirty.

My current car is a very dark metallic grey and looks filthy half an hour after a wash.

White is stunning when clean, as is black but alas they stay clean for the least amount of time. Go silver if you don't want to wash it that often as they never look bad clean/dirty.

I know you're right........but I've had a long string of silver cars + our main car is silver too. It seems a shame to go for silver given the great range of colour combination available in the VRS.

Maybe silver with the black wheels could look good.

what would spoil a silver car now is the black pack, think somebody mentioned you could get anthracite that might look nice, but not seen it on the dealers bumf

having said all this, what with the 4 different colour wheels and diff roof options you are spoiled a little, just go with ur gut feelings

the blue/white used to be nice but i wouldnt want it with the black pack, its sort of wasted the white wheels option now

What is the Black Pack?

I notice that newer cars seem to have a black grill but the black roof and wheels have always been available haven't they?

Those wheels on yours look great - particularly with the silver line around the rim. I'm assuming that is what I'd get if I go for the black wheels now. I picked up a brochure a couple of days ago and it has a white one with black wheels on the cover - very nice.

look at the grill and lights, thats the black pack which was an option when i bought mine but during the looooooooooong wait it became standard fit. now imagine that on a blue car with white wheels

the black wheels do look nice with the silver edge, dont think monte's have this, and the black/white roof is an option

actually the full line up for wheels is silver, white, black or silver/black

That's very useful, thanks. I hadn't noticed the lights. Your dead right - it doesn't look so good on the blue/green cars.

i think so long as you get the black wheels its not so bad but if you were set on the white wheels, well it'd look pants imho

shame coz i like the white wheels on some combo's

it really does change how they look doesn't it?! I'm quite happy to have the clear lights and silver grill on my green car  think it will be more exclusive in the end ;)

however after the black pack introduction, blackmagic has grown on me... black, with the black pack, makes a mean looking car... someone on here has a black magic with black pack... dont know where the pics are, but he posted them! maybe in vRS register... looks like a stealth bomber!

silver would be easier to keep looking clean

Red looks very good clean and not to bad dirty

Yes, silver makes a lot of sense but......

Black looks great for about 10 minutes after you clean it and also shows up car park dings more than any other colour.

Not sure about red.

I fancy white, possibly silver with black wheels. The wife and boys like blue.

Nice choices I suppose!

How about red? This picture might change your mind (not my picture, sorry for the hijack):

I'd forgotten how shiny my black wheels were until I washed it recently..they had taken on a grey appearance !! Still..It didn't look bad covered in muck..Just too busy enjoying driving it :p
