With amother vRS Estate!

My car went in today to have the stone chip/foils replaced as they were misaligned and getting dirt underneath. Whilst this was being done they updated the ECU with the latest software

But on my way out I noticed a Race Blue vRS Estate - god it looks good in the flesh! Wish i'd ordered mine in race Blue with Black wheels now but hey ho!

One year old and £15,500 - holding value well, which is nice to know B)

I sometimes wish I had got the estate, a number off times I've had to put the rear seats down to fit every thing in.

Do you know what the ECU update consisted of?

when was yours built? Mine was in February 2011 and i allegedly dont need an update. That said the dealer i was asking as far as he was concerned wasnt aware of any issues with misfiring or failing engines on the 1.4TSI.

I want to find a garage ho is aware of this update and get them to flash my car

Race blue is very good colour and looks good on the octy & fabia it`s one of the best colour skoda do and with the black lights and grille on the fabia vRS it look very good

Race Blue is THE VRS colour IMO.

I saw a white mkII VRS hatchback today and it just looks too much a bog standard Fabia to me. Just another small Skoda. Fair enough people want to be subtle, but too subtle can be a bit boring. And as has been said before the mkII just doesn't look sporty being so thin and tall. Looks better as an estate.

How is it still worth £15,500 when it was no doubt bought for less due to the 20% vat offer? The car can be bought for £17,265 without the VAT offer, adding that in takes it down to around the 14k ish mark?

I still absolutely love mine in white with black roof and wheels. I confirm that everytime I look at it from the window in my office at work I just want to take photos of it. A white estate lacks the black roof which makes so much difference in my eyes. Similarly important, yours hasn't the black wheels either, so it's normal not to stand out that much.

For me the black roof and wheels are key parts for the look of the vRS. Combine these two with any available color and you can't possibly go wrong, but black wheels and roof are essential to make it stand out and stress its true character.

I had rejected two dealers before finding the final one as they couldn't give me the black wheels. The 3rd one had a white/black roof vRS with silver wheels and a completely red one with black wheels so I told him "If you could swap wheels with the red vRS then we have a deal right now." Called me back 10' later telling me he persuaded his boss to do this as they normally can't do stuff like that. (right...) I'm so glad I insisted on this. Maybe It's only me but I see a whole world of difference between the two options...

Not sure what the flash update on the ECU wass for or what was in it - but I mentioned a few others had it done and there could be one. Sure enough, July or August time an update was issued to flash cars as they come in, not urgent but an update none the less. Mine was built in and registered in June this year.

If you have engine lights etc coming on then you will get the update from moaning - if not it'll be flashed when its in for work.

With respect to white vRS's looking dull, well, subtle - I agree - but then I have always wanted a white car :D Done it now, Race Blue and black wheels next time if the new vRS still comes as an estate! B)
