Yeti phone experts advice/ideas required

Featured Replies

Well with help from a friend at work who's a bit of a wiz with phones I've at last got my Monster to talk to my new mobile. However we cannot get the phonebook to import (no such issues with the old phone). Get the following message following phone connection; 'Unable to load phonebook'.

Any ideas from the floor :wonder:

Old phone - Samsung M150

New phone - Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman

Thanks,

TP

Perhaps its the way your contacts are shown, go to contacts, view , and try highlighting sim or phone options.

Just a thought, have you deleted your old phone-which you can do with maxidot provided a phone is currently connected. After I deleted my old Hero in favour of my new i phone it then offered me the opportunity to load a new phone book.

I have had something similar and i think deleting and re pairing was what got it sorted in the end

Not sure on the maxidot settings, but one of them should be related to which memory to download the contacts from. Some phones store the data on the Sim card, and others in memory on the phone. If the wrong one is selected then there will be either nothing to download or the download will fail.

I'd go with the remote SIM access being the issue.

I've got a Desire and Nokia C3 both paired with the BT kit in the Sharan without issues. It correctly shows the phonebook for the currently connected handset.

You may have to enable remote SIM in the pairing/BT menu on your phone or security menu depending on phone OS.

Oh just remembered to feed back on this.

Many thanks for advice from all, got me thinking a bit more and I eventually found an option in the new phone to export the phonebook via bluetooth which appears to have worked :)

Samsung phone was much easier, did everything automatically :D
