Weird Engine Stutter

Featured Replies

I'm now at a loss.

My engine under full load is, well, stuttering. I feels like it's got some fuel starvation but it doesn't seem to have...

I've tried just about everything, including leaving the battery off over night to reset the ECU.

I'm now out of ideas. Before anyone says, it's NOT the VRS engine hesitation, it's far worse than that.

I would have blamed the EGR valve, but that's been disconnected and the CCV mod running for over a year...

Could it be a bad batch of fuel? Fuel up and if it is still happening scan it with vagcom for errors.

Does it happen when you accelerate? Mis firing? Mine did this, faulty wiring loom in the head.

When was fuel filter last changed. Scan it with vagcom if possible, if no codes try the simple and cheap thing first throw a new fuel filter on it.

How much was a replacement? I might need one for my golf as it's doing the same as the op, missing under heavy load at q set rev range.

Vag-Com scan to start with.

Mine done this, turned out to be faulty connector & wiring on my MAP Sensor.

Trigger fish - cost me around 130 quid from an VAG specialist iirc

Ok, thanks. emoticon-0148-yes.gif Hoping it won't come to that though.

Just done a scan (with my little machine, not VAG com) and it's come back with 0532 and something about B+ voltage not being high enough.... Rather confused by this...

Its happening under full acceleration, from 2500rpm upwards. Doesn't sound like a misfire, just like it hasn't got enough fuel!

I've ordered a fuel filter so I'll fit that (hasn't been changed for 18 months).

Had this last week and a new fuel filter has sorted it.
