+1 on that ABD buddy,

I love mine

VRSEngineBay2008-1.jpg

NICE, this looks great! and woa your engine bay is sooo neat :D. I just ordered the ABD CAI :). If you don't mind I have three small questions for you :)

skodasiliconhoses.jpg

The hose number 1). I cant find this hose. And can you explain why it is important and if I'm planning on buying Forge TIP is this also important and is the part of the same airflow system that feeds the ABD CAI?

The hoses number 2). Are these breather pipes? Did you not use Silicone Turbo Hose Kit like this?: Silicon turbo hose kit

Number 3). I don't recocnice this on my car. Is this a oil catch can? and what does it do?

It would be very helpful if you could help me out here :). I have a remap and with the ABD CAI and new DV and Forge Tip I want to be sure everything holds :)

Thanks,

Tom.

Pipe 1: I have the same pipe for sale, some "person" on ebay won it and dint pay, said they were having trouble with PP and would sort it asap, that was 3 weeks or so ago, Ive not heard any reply to my 2 emails so Ive opened a case.

£30 and its yours mate. will post when PO is open again.

2 of the pipes are boost pipes, the fatest one is for the DV, the one behind is for the N75 valve and the one off the top of the DV is a vacume pipe.

3 is the Oil catch can, it basically catches the oil vapours from the breather system to prevent it going back into the intake pipe.

As far as TIP, the forge one is ok but is held on the turbo with a jubilee clip, not what I wanted so I got a Neuspeed TIP (copy) the just replaces the metal bottom half, this also means that you only need to remove one pipe as oposed to all the DV and other small pipes on the top half of the TIP.

the proper one.(I payed £75 inc post for mine, P&P was more than the item. and it bolts on not clamps.

Sorry cant find a link to the one I got now.

Number 1 Hose: is the Inlet to inter cooler pipe. It travels down through the inner wing to the side mounted inter cooler. You will have the std hose fitted as your car won't run properly without one

It is not so important to replace that one with silicon hose like I did , but as i replaced all mine anyway that was on the list to do.

The TIP hose you speak of that your ABD CAI is linked to is the Turbo inlet pipe that run's at the back of the car from airflow meter to turbo. This pipe is worth replacing with forge or any other good make as the std pipe can collapse as the material is not as efficient as the silicon ones and get weak over time. This then allows the pressure in the turbo to suck in the pipe collapsing it. There is a slight improvement on turbo spool up with a good TIP.

The hoses number 2). Are these breather pipes? Did you not use Silicone Turbo Hose Kit like this?: Silicon turbo hose kit

Number 2 Hoses, are as Billy states boost pipes, the fattest one is for the DV, the one behind is for the N75 valve and the one off the top of the DV is a vacuum pipe that you will need to buy a 5mm silicon pipe for (but not essential). So yes the URL link has these 2 pipes in it(not DV one). The URL link also has the Hose number 1 Inlet to inter cooler pipe(the fattest one) the other 2 hoses in that kit are not used on our cars, but that is the right type of kit to get.

Number 3). I don't recognize this on my car. Is this a oil catch can? and what does it do?

Number 3 Hoses, again as Billy states is the Oil catch can, it basically catches the oil vapors from the breather system to prevent it going back into the intake pipe, thus keeping the oil cleaner for longer. Does a good job of keeping the condensation away from the cylinder head too.

It would be very helpful if you could help me out here :). I have a remap and with the ABD CAI and new DV and Forge Tip I want to be sure everything holds :)

As mentioned replacing the std pipes with good quality silicon ones are a safe idea, certainly if pushing more boost through the car. I just carried on replacing all of mine as i am fussy.

any further help just ask...

P.S buy Billy inlet pipe good value at £30  same as mine. Turbo88 I think Billy right

Why put a RARB on with standard suspension , if the suspension is going to be what they do say next year

RARB will still tighten up the rear of the car on standard suspension. Will stop if from wallowing around as much.

its the Autobahn one mate, 4 ply iirc. Got mine coz I saw yours lol, was good but unfortunatly its blue and I want black so the bay looks std(ish) lol.

£it went on the bay for about that price but the looser didnt pay and hasnt even had the kindness to say he doesnt want it. just spun me a yarn saying PP trouble! even gave him a chance and again emailed asking whats going on.

You have too much time on your hands Mark lol. keepin the bay like that, either that or your milage is low?

billy

Hi Tom, this kit on ebay is a very good price that comes with all the pipes you need even the TIP....

Hi Billy yep sorry that was it Autobahn88

my mileage is at 139,000 now, I don't spend much time on the engine bay now it is at that level, just give it a clean every few months actually. It was getting the that level in the first place that took time.

Okay I see. £75 is a good deal for the neuspeed tip. I'll think I'll take the forge tip but I'll just have to tighten the jubilee clip a lot! :D

Thanks for the info on the pipes, now I understand this B)

Great, thanks. I'll probably getting the Tip from forge but I can buy the other hoses from Creation :)

Thanks, great info :). Do you have forge or creation motorsport silicon hoses?

Have you considered relocating your DV to a more cold spot?

All my main hoses are Autobahn88 apart from hoses to and from OCC which are forge(will replace those soon as not happy with the forge ones, you can see they are discolored already, should be oil resistant!)

The other small hoses are just ebay 4mm and 6mm hoses (top of DV =4mm and small Inlet manifold pipes are the 6mm)

Not considered relocating DV, don't like that idea, prefer it where it is. I don't think there is any benefit in relocating it IMO.

Wow, just noticed that - that's bad! Have you contacted Forge about it?
