Recall notice arrived in post today

Featured Replies

I got the recall notice today for my April 04 registered Furby VRS.

It basically says that a bolt in/around the fuel tank/hose could be faulty (?) and that my local garage should have a look at when they can.

As I am nearly 30k service time, it can wait a bit, but has anyone else had this? :thumbdwn:

Got mine this morning in the post May 04 reg

Its a set of bolts in the mechanical fuel pump on the engine. Seen a bit about it on the VW forums. The recalll is a bit of an overkill by the looks of it but VAG are playing safe and doing a mass of cars to make sure. Its not dangerous and is purely precautionary.

I have now posted details of this recall as a 'sticky' in the General forum for future reference.

Indeed better safe and sorry! I've heard about it before and wasn't suprised when the letter came in the post.

From my understanding it affects the 130 PD engines April to August 2004 , had my Octy letter in early Feb this year , booked it in to dealers and took half hour ( with replacing pump bolts . ) they stamped the service book with a recall note completed . All done No probs .

It's an easy job, under warranty, and it's definitely better than fuel over a hot engine :)
