Fabia wheels

Featured Replies

Well guys bare with me here but im looking at a new set of wheels for the car and saw something that I like but they're 16" 8j/9j and et 20. Any way they would work or not a chance? Cheers

et 20 is long way off et34, so they will not clear the brake calipers.

ET20 means it will stick out 18mm further than the standard ET38. That will take it further away from the calipers but probably too far out meaning it will most likely catch on the arches. Have a look at www.willtheyfit.com to compare the wheels you want with the standard ones. You could always get the arches rolled to give extra clearance

Thanks peeps will see what I can do. Looking for something wide and dishy

18mm isnt to much really. are you lowered or planning to go low. i have seen 20mm spacers and pretty low with no major scrubbing unless being driven really hard! easy enough to roll your arches like has been said aswell. got a pic of the wheels your looking at?

My D90`s were about ET20 with the adapters, no rubbing issues.

if ya look in the fabia builds thread there's on in Ireland running them already n looks mint, running 10mm spacers up back too. . .think his are 17's tho. . think the thread is called "euro fabia"

Thanks guys had a look at the thread and I think his are about ET35 or so

running 10mm spacers takes that down to et25 then. . .

Cool guys looks like its a go for project ET20 8J/9J then :p

All is well with the above said regarding offset. But you haven't taken into account the width of your wheels. I think with 9js you'll struggle.

Ah I see. Would I get away with 8 or 8.5?

Maybe, dont for sure, but 9j ET20 rings alerts. do your research there's a fair few cars knocking about running similar spec wheels, drop them a message and see what their experiences are.

What you need to do mate is go on et calculator (search google) and you just out in the et and width of the wheels you have on now and then the et and the width of these wheels then it will tell you exactly how much more it sticks out than the wheels you have on now and all you need to do if go out with a ruler and measure and you will have your answer :L if that makes sense. :)

But let us know how it goes mate because i want some 16x8 wheels for mine because there apparently the best size for handleing on a fabia :)

cheers guys will let you know how I get on.

My 17" comps are et32 and they stick out far enough. Since ive put the 16's on for winter i can now tell how much easier and nicer it is to drive. Plus less strain on all the other suspenion components. Dont think id want to much lower than ET32 ish
