A few Questions and a hello

Featured Replies

Afternoon all, I am new here. lol well new to the Fabia.

The other day I purchased a nice silver Fabia vRS.

73k

Xenons

Cruise

Heated seats.

only faults found are:

cracked fog

drivers air vent has 3 fins that dont move on roller.

Mirror switch clip broke.

few minor marks and scrapes but nothing a good detail wont sort. Will need tyres sorting out as 2 on back are odd, 1 is new lol, fronts are getting a bit thin. Winters on way. Alloys are not really bad but could do with a refurb.

All the faults are not really bad as everything works, the blower I will sort first then the Fog and mirror switch but again none bothers me.

Love the car, cant believe its std tho. I think its mapped but previouse owner says not. Very pokey with low down grunt, LOVE IT.

Here is a quick pic of my now Toy and my car lol.

I am going to try my 17" spiders on the fabia for summer and see what the ride and eco is like, if it seriously compromises the good ride of the Fabia Ill get some 16" spiders or another set of std Fabia vRS rims for summer and one set for winter. Is the 16" spiders off the octavia the same 6.5" wide?

Cheers

billy

ps I also wont be on here much lol as I blame Briskoda for the mods Ive done to the Octavia vRS :giggle: dont want to mod the Furby at all. only RARB and pos the Brakes form my car as I have LCR brembos on the Octy.

Welcome

Wheels:

The 16" Octavia spiders are a popular upgrade - but that means prices for a set are high. Pretty sure the width is the same but not 100% sure.

Further faults:

The grille badge is missing

"Love the car, cant believe its std tho. I think its mapped but previouse owner says not. Very pokey with low down grunt" - if your Octavia's petrol then I'm not surprised since a diesel has better torque.

"dont want to mod the Furby at all" - do I believe that? :)

Lol, yea I noticed that after posting pic lol.

As for mods, it staying as is. Lol. The octavia is the one getting the toys.

One more question tho, how do you use the light washers?

Also some of the small things on the car are ace,

Ie, 3 flash indicators.

When washing front windscreen the wipers wipe once more after 20 second or so.

When in reverse, rear wiper wipes window.

All things I've noticed that the mk1 octavia should have.

Billy

The washers work when you have the lights on and the washers are used for a certain length of time I think. Lucky sod, perfect skoda set up, economical fabia daily and hardcore octy for toy time.

16" octavia spiders are same width as 16" standard VRS wheels, but different offset (42 instead of 37), so your track is 10mm narrower overall, unless you fit 5mm spacers. I've not bothered, and you'd be really hard pressed to notice tbh.

Good luck finding them though, as they're like rocking horse poo.
