Battery top fuse box

Featured Replies

I've been reading existing threads on here regarding problems with the fuses on top of the battery.

Can I ask if anyone has come up with a solution to the melting fuseholder problem as I'm having to deal with this at the moment.

I've ordered another fuse box,but is the same thing just gonna end up happening again ?

One contributor suggested upgrading the cabling leading to the box.Would this work,or would it make the problem worse ?

Any suggestions on how to sort this ?

The problem is the crimp on the cable leading into the box, the box isnt at fault directly. Ive heard you can melt solder into it or replace the cable itself.

Go and replace the cable with new OEM one,and solves the problem.

I pay about 40p for new one at dealership.

I couldn't touch the old cable(it was quite corroded),has getting hot like hell, and the mess...

When my fuse box melted it was the cable from the alternator that caused it, new fuse box and cable and its sorted

They now do an updated cable and crimp or if you don't want to pay out for that you can put your own crimp on the cable.
