Picked up my Octy this morning at 9.30am

Featured Replies

I picked up my new Octavia 2.0TDi from the garage here in Edinburgh this morning. I nipped out from work to collect it and managed to take it around the bypass before heading back to work. I am 1000% satisfied with my purchase. I thought when the £1500.00 came from my switch card I would cringe but all I could think about is "give me the bloody keys"....

I bought the sports suspension and 17 inch alloys and they really make the car look fantastic. I had the 1.9 for a test drive and the difference between the 1.9 and 2.0 is quite remarkable. The cabin is very quiet and the power is, well, powerful!!!!

The car is parked down stairs at the moment, I can't wait to get out of Edinburgh and have a proper drive on the way home down the east coast. It's just not right driving around the city with an average speed of 14mph in a shirt and tie.

The car is everything that the guys on the forum have said it is. Lovely design in and out with a great engine under the bonnet. I am very pleased to have bought a Skoda and look forward to some great out of town driving.

Skoda Chatham in Edinburgh, the salesman came in on his day off to finalise everything for me, I thought I would not be picking the car up until tomorrow and managed to change dates at the last minute.

Nice to hear the car is all you expected of it and more. Have fun. :D

:wrthless: :D

Congrats on the car Kev, Happy motoring!

Congrats Kev,

I got my 2.0PD Elegance DSG yesterday morning as well, and I'm still smiling from ear to ear (despite someone trying to vandalise it on the FIRST night I had it  ). I haven't really opened it up yet, but I can feel that it's seriously quick under there, and it's SOOOOOOOOO quiet compared to the 1.9PD Superb. I'll get a few miles under it and then start to push it more - can't wait :D .

Have to say that, apart from the light assistant, which is driving me round the bend, it's a FANTASTIC car. My wife is already planning long trips away - "It's so comfortable".

Really happy. Just hope the local 'boys' leave it alone.

congrats you lucky peeps! eagerly awaiting mine, must get a build date soon!!!

Just picked my 2.0 TDI Elegance estate up today from Horner’s. First impressions, it's no RS but the torque makes it a nice and relaxing car to drive. Cabin is tops and the six speed box is slick, though 6th is really only needed as an overdrive gear.

I find the standard suspension setup is on the firm side and combined with the 16 inch wheels gives ample grip and road feedback. I am glad I gave the sports suspension a wide birth, though people who don’t care about ride quality will not be worried about this.

Overall I'm well happy with it, and definitely glad I went for the 2.0 over the 1.9. The choice of metallic colours is good, and every one of them seems to look great from what I have seen. I chose the Sahara Beige, and it looks really classy with the black cloth.

Pics coming soon, just ordered some Swissol wax etc so I want to give it a bit of tlc before I post some pics. The weather up here has been awful since Thursday too....

The car continues to impress me more and more. I took my family away for the weekend and the drive was just not long enough, I could have spent hours behind the wheel. My dear 2 year old daughter managed to be sick in her car seat and a bit on the upholstery, I cleaned the car and her at the same time. Can anyone recommend some car seat coovers or a boot protector?

I just spent the night clearing out the garage to make a bit more breathing space around the new car. Now I just need the wax to arrive.....

Another satisfied Skoda owner :)

Welcome to the club :wavey:

Steve
