What do the bushes and joints note gear linkage feel/look like?

Thanks for the reply TT i will get under the car today and have a look. and also, when the engine is not running i can shift the gears easy but when the engine is running i can't. Not sure if this means anything.

Bloody iPad autocorrecting words, just re-read that last and it makes no sense to me either.... :wonder:

Any who check the rear engine mount for play as well.

hi..suspect the clutch? If it is dragging..ie failing to dis-engage properly, then difficulty will be experienced changing gear when driving/engine running.

Check the clutch cable it still intact/attached to clutch arm?

Get someone to depress the clutch pedal whilst observing its movement under the bonnet....

Sounds like clutch cable needs tightened cos its not disengaging properly.

Check that the clutch pedal is level with the brake pedal to start with, if it's below then adjust the cable ( 10mm nut on gearbox end) until its level and try it then. Otherwise it could be a broken clutch plate
