Buzzy Door Locking Knob

Featured Replies

When the doors are unlocked (while driving) I can hear a buzzing noise from the chrome knob on the drivers door. When I lock the doors, the sound goes away.Is this a common Octy vRS personality trait or what?

Is it bugging you or can you live with it? I'm wondering if it's something to do with the immobiliser in the drivers door.

Just spent the weekend at The Lakes and I have to say it didn't bug me that much - maybe something to do with the fact that the stereo was on quite loud!

BTW it was great driving on those country lanes, though Mrs Blue Dave was heard to say the words "Will you slow down!!!" on more than one occassion. Spoil sport

I had something similar on the rear door lock. Turns out that the plastic ring that goes through the padding on the top of the door and around the lock button had split and was vibrating away merrily. Thanks to this forum, I figured out how to remove the rear door trim and I glued it back together.

My ones doing this now, I blame you guys for bringing this to my attention :finger: , That is an aggravating noise which is not far from my ear.

At least it goes away when the door is locked.

Anyone know a cure for this one.
