Valeo Single Mass Flywheel & Clutch Kit

Featured Replies

Doesn't seem cheap enough to justify chancing it on E-bay IMHO.

Check with a local factors for a price, but if you think about it, you're losing your money and holding onto the part for a when it happens.

It might not happen and if it does, then the part might have got cheaper. If not then you've not lost the interest in the bank, so it's not like you're really making a saving.

Also there might be an upgraded part in the future.

Noises have increased from the DMF (knocking noise). Has anyone bought the above SMF kit before? It's been reduced, so tempted to take a chance.

Mike Holroyd fitted a SMF to a 1.9 - I think it was a Valeo. He started a thread on it at the time.

i fitted one to my 1.9 tdi alh its a nice heavy flywheel and i think weight matches, so i dont have any noise or anything, just a massive improvement. If it was a light flywheel the rattly sound is pronounced. I dont get any vibration over and above dmf in fact dmf vibrated more than my valeo solid. Id say go for it if flywheel is around 20kg mark

Mine was converted too under warranty to a SMF plus clutch. 18K so far and perfect. No noise or vibrations and juddering just a real smooth and responsive drive.

They should all be like this from the factory.

Are these compatible with all tdi 1.9's? When I looked a year or so ago (old one still battling on) there seemed to be a plethora of types for different engine codes. This ebay seller seems to only list one.

I think the point I was making was just go to a dealer or to a proper motor-factors rather than buying something on e-bay.

The cost of fitting is more than the cost of the part, so don't try and save £20 on the part if it brings the quality into question.

What do you think guys?

Thinking of getting it and keeping it till the flywheel goes on my 2007 1.9 tdi pd.

I bought my SMF from the same guys for a great price, only, it was a SACHS. I replaced my stock/OEM DMF of my 1.9 TDi BJB Engine with this SMF and have never looked back. The Car now is so much smoother and refined even after having it used for over a year now.

I realise this is an old (ish) thead, but I'm looking for info on a solid flywheel kit for the 2.0 CR engine.

Euro Car Parts seem to sell one (it says it's for the CEGA engine code which I think is correct).

Anybody done the conversion on a CR engine or know anybody that has? thanks!

(If anybody local to me in Stockton fancies taking my car for a spin to see if they think my DMF is failing that would be amazing.... I think it is on it's way out but my opinion is only based on descriptions I have read online. i could be wrong!)
