HPFP which one

Featured Replies

As the title says which HP pump to go for and how much should I be paying. Been told around £600 for a pump but my mate just bought a welbro HP pump for his focus rs for £80 and he's running 461bhp. What's the difference and could I run one?

For the octavia 2 you just need to update the internals. You have the choice of autotech or kmd. There is also the ready built pump by apr which is the most expensive. Internals are about £300 ish normally ( i am running a group buy for £270).

The focus is using a whole pump and is slightly different. It's the internals that need uprating to flow more fuel with the tfsi engine.

Every APR pump is thoroughly tested before its sent out to prevent leakage into the crank case, If you can afford it go for APR.

Get the autotech one. I've got one installed and running just fine. Did some reading prior to the decision and didn't like the sound of some negative reviews/issues the kmd one had a while back. Not sure what they're like now.

To be fair, the Autotech ones have had some bad press too. I covered thousands of miles without problem, but I know Dave's failed when he went K04.

If you're thinking about K04, I'd consider the APR.

I can't see there would be any difference between k03 @ stage 2+ and a k04 map which is a stage 3 tune, they both run 130bar. Maybe Dave was unlucky?
