Fabia vRs se brakes.

Featured Replies

I have noticed that the braking efficiency on my Skoda has gone really crap!

I think it's time to do the pads on the car as I have covered over 5000 miles in under 4 months.

I was wondering which would be a better upgrade.

The standard octy vrs front brake setup or the Brembo set up?

I have to say that the brembo calipers I have, came off a Renault Megane 225. I know I will need a adapter bracket, but where could I buy that from?

Also can I fit the octy vrs rear brake set up to my fabia vRs.

All replies and help appreciated.

Anything Brembo is likely to be better than OEM. Even the 312s from an Octy vRS will only be single-piston calipers rather than twin-piston. You might have issues getting the Brembo calipers behind your wheels though due to spoke/caliper clearance, and if you're on standard 16s then you probably won't be able to use any discs bigger than 312mm anyway.

I have Pro Race 1.2 16"s and VAG 312mm brakes, there's only about 1-2mm clearance between the caliper and the inside of the wheel.

I really wanna go for the Brembo calipers, but I need the brackets! Do you know of a place where I could get them from? I will be using 17" octy wheels with my brembos or octy calipers if I can't get the bracket adaptors.

Thank you any way!

Remember you need discs with 5 x 100 PCD holes for wheel bolts. I think the Mk2 Octy wheels/brakes are different. The ones on the Mk1 Octavia will fit.

Brembos with octy spiders need a +5mm adapter to clear the calipers

It's the mk1 octy I am talking about here! Sorry if I muddled u up!

I think I should just sell the Megane calipers and stick to standard octy mk1 brakes as this is getting to technical for me, unless I can get a full set up from somewhere! 😞

I had a feeling that's what you were going to say. I was just reminding you if you didn't know.

Jim it's very kind of u! Yes the brakes I may use in the end will be off a mk1 octy. Unless I get the Brembo sorted!

I really want the brembos please help any one

I've got a full set-up off a Leon Cupra R mk1.

That's Brembo 4 pot callipers with I think 323mm discs.

The rears are bigger I think 256 or something? Its a good breaking set up but doesn't handle what I give it just on the roads... I do drive blimmin hard though.

Also I have mk1 S3 wheels and they clear without spacers. TT wheels should do just fine too.

When I say they don't handle what I give them, I mean they don't fade but discs warp and crack easily.

Hope this helps you out a little fella.

My next upgrade will be K-Sport 8 pots...

I was looking at k sports or AP racing! But see if I keep the car that long!

Ap's require more clearance than brembos! They're fecking huge!

Huge ain't the word........

Pretty sure the ksports will go on with spiders. Luke has tonnes of clearance when the brembo's had the paint took off by the wheel hitting.

Check the clearance out on his progress thread XaosX

They're also a complete **** to change the pads on if they've not been changed in a long time and the ****** that done them before you assembled everything upside down :@

took me 4 hours to punch out the pins for the wifes pads on her Ibiza on one side. Other side came easier though. That said they are superb and i hate the brakes in the fabia because of them.

Yes the unexplainable sticky pin problem! Infamous for snapping punches lol
