How to adjust washer nozzles?

Featured Replies

Yeah, how do i adjust the pointing of the washers? cant actually see moveable nozzle, there just seems to be slits in the plastic mounts so i am unsure what to adjust. Drivers side is fine but I'm sure the passenger side one is actually going straight over the car!

Theres no way to adjust them unfortunately... apart from bending the mounts for the scuttle panel slightly. i had to do this after some autoglass muppet was leaning on it

Correct....what plonker came up with that design???

Yes, the position of them below the bonnet scuttle is great because they don't freeze up as badly during the winter, but to make them almost impossible to adjust?????

Still, you can't get everything right first time on such a great car

Oh well, thanks guys

Noticed that the panel is fixed in the middle and at the ends so isnt even fixed near washers. I'll look into wedging the panel to try move the aim.

At about 100 plus it should spray onto the windscreen.....so i'm told

A little extreme to get your window cleaned though ;)

Or thanks for clearing the road for us whilst I did so ;)

Wrong. They CAN be adjusted. Mine were firing their load over the roof, so I went to the dealer and he adjusted it for me with some special tool he had from the outside, and now they hit my screen perfect :D

People used to say they couldnt be adjusted on my Astra - they looked pretty much the same as the Octy/Fabia ones so I gues they can be done in a similar way.

You'll need something long and thin, slightly thinner than a paperclip. I used an engineers scribing tool but I guess not everyone has one of those.

Gentle poke a suitable tool into the nozzle and move it around. Beware though that it only takes a tiny ammount of movement to go from hit to miss.
