Considering swapping cars

Featured Replies

I know these kinda questions come up almost weekly but generally the brisky massive are pretty good at offering thoughts and advice. OK, long story short, as well as my Fabia I also have a Fiesta ST. Originally my Mrs was going to use it for work, but she gets the bus as its cheaper and quicker. So, we are moving in a month or two and have a nice big drive and garage. At this point i`m going to start using the Fabia a bit less for work as the short 15min trip to work probably isnt good for it and use the other car a little more.

This is where i`v been doing a bit of pondering, as much as I like the ST, its nippy, gives us no hassle, I really fancy something else. I`v noticed the passed few weeks how cheap MK1 Octavia`s are changing hands for now, some as low as £1800. The fiesta is worth £3500 minimum, so what sort of money can a decent Octavia vRS be picked up for? If I could end up a few quid better out of the swap (more money towards the new house) that would be worth the effort and justification to the mrs.

I`m guessing MPG, Tax & other costs will be close matched although I havent checked yet. Any thoughts, comments suggestions welcome

Easily get a nice MK1 for the cash of the Fiesta, however it won't end there.
