Car cover

Featured Replies

So im trying to tuck the Fabia away for the winter and having real trouble finding a car cover that wont get blown away with the current winds we have been having

Had a look at some custom fit ones but at £150+ it seems a bit steep.

Anyone know of any outdoor waterproof car covers i can buy that wont cost an arm and leg and wont get blown away

Cheers

Simon

Car covers wreck your paint, even the expensive ones. They shift in the wind, and abrade the paintwork. It's also better to let the car 'breath' so they are also the cause of early rust.

As above, used car covers in the past & they have damaged my paintwork...

the only one ive seen that works is one thats like a tent with a frame & ventalated but there expensive...

If i was you i would look into renting a garage etc.. if you want to take it off the road for winter. :)

I thought about outside, but in the interests of the paint finish it's inside under a soft backed blanket.

just give it 2 coats of a decent wax and leave it outside,

I use to use a soft car cover which did a very good job, but that was parked inside my garage :)

Garages around my area go for around £5 per week why dont you look into this? or even selfstorage.

The paintwork on my 2004vRS was absolutely fine when I sold it six years later - after six years of being out on the drive and never garaged - so why do you want a cover?

I have to add to the point regarding damaged paint.

My father used an ICE cover for his windscreen and this caused huge amounts of scruffs in the lacquer on the A pillars - granted he got 90% out with T-cut but I couldn't face doing it for the whole of the car.
