Front doors leaking like a colander!

Featured Replies

well guy's...

spent most of today doing my front doors as they were leaking very very badly...

once stripped down i could see the problem both front door speaker back plates or housings were missing...

put the watering can on the outside of the car & hey presto water flooding in the speaker holes...

time to get my thinking cap on.... started by sealing the carriers first..just incase.. had a shifty through the shed & found an old tub. so popped down wilko's a bought two new tubs.. i then found the lids were a perfect fit as i could squeeze them in in the speaker hole against the upward metal bar & they then clipped to the rear of the aluminium recess.. i then sealed them securely with the sealent i had... :)

i know this may seem a pikey fix to some but i was quite pleased with the end result.. & secondly i needed a quick fix as the doors were pi**ing in water, if this does not work then i will look to obtain some original speaker housings...all good for now as heavy rain is forcast 2morow... thoughts!
