Door handles

Featured Replies

Hi,

I need to replace the O/S/Rear door lock and handle on my 03 sdi hatchback, are the rear handles the same, ie. will a N/S/Rear handle fit the offside?

Ken

I can tell you that you need to remove the small section of the handle first(the bit you dont pull) by removing the torx/allen bolt next to the lock mech itself, this then pulls out. You can then undo the cable from the handle and remove the lock mechanism(with door card off). You will need the special spline tool(diff from torx). There are 2 bolts holding the mech in iirc. I cant tell you how to remove the handle part but should be obvious once you get to this stage(i only changed lock). Hope this helps, there is a guide on this somewhere, or micro switch guide which will tell you most things :-)

Looking at the handles will all be the same :-)

Hi, Thanks for that, I have seen a nearside handle advertised and wondered if this would also fit the offside, I will need to change to lock as it will not lock with central locking, I can hear it working but it still opens with the outside handle?
