skoda rear disk brake calipers

Featured Replies

Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDI Sept 2005. Both the rear disk brake caliper hand break actuating arms have seized. The garage said one was completely seized and the other was only working at about 10%. I thought it just needed a hand break adjustment when I took it into the garage. Fortunately most of the cost has been covered by an extended warranty. Both calipers have been replaced but how do I stop it happening again.

Spray PTFE white grease around the area where the handbrake pivot arm goes into the caliper. Clean if off and re apply once a year after winter.
