How do I remove the passenger door card?

Featured Replies

As the title really. I need to remove the passenger door card and I'm having problems. I assume there's a fixing behind the handle but can't figure out how to get the handle off. Any help appreciated as the car is in bits at the moment and it's starting to get dark!

Very small flat bladed screw driver inserted into the joint in the handle. Gently, very gently prise the cover off to get at the larger screws. Would you like me to take a picture ?

Yeah, I've been busy. Cruise control is in and tested. Alien tech is in and tested. Got part way through a few other things and got a few more to start.

HTH :)

Eddy, get a big adjustable wrench and clamp the front of the plastic door handle. Then give it a good yank outwards. It's held on by 2 oversize plastic pugs which are a nightmare to budge. You'll smash the front plastic cover to buggery but well worth it imo as you'll be there for hours trying not to damage the current one. They're only a few quid from the dealer anyway....

What a PITA! Finally got it off but now it's raining!

Forgot to say I actually found it easier to remove by getting a large screw driver and levering the top of the handle (with the window down) worked best.

Anyway got it all sorted now. So this weekend I fitted the alien tech, blue security LED's in both doors, cruise control and I finished off the interior illumination conversion. Quite pleased but I'd have got a lot more done if it hadn't rained so much.

Sorry to hijack your thread - but can you give some details of the fitting of cruise control? Do you use Skoda parts, or is it an aftermarket fitting?
