headlights not working

hi, wife just came in and said she could not get the headlights to work on her "p" reg felicia.no dip or full beam. side lights work ok. am thinking headlight switch u/s. any help gratefully accepted. many thanks robert

try the fuses 1st as they have two then try the side light switch

have tried both fuses all ok. side light switch seams ok as it gives power to the headlight switch (have measured this with a multi meter) fitted new headlight switch and made no difference. can hear relay clicking in fuse box but no power going to headlights. any ideas please as am really stuck!!!!!

Hang on though, if the relay is clicking then the stalk and switches must be working, have you actually checked for a voltage on the wiring harness at the headlight? What's the chances that both bulbs are blown?

thanks, have put a multi meter on the bulb plug and their is nothing. you can't even get main beam to work unless you use the flash mode. HEEELLLPPPP

ALL DONE!!!!! found water in fuse box. dried it all out power now going to bulb. Both bulbs had blown as well as a knackered headlight switch.
