Both of my HID bulbs have blown, one was working fine for one day then decides to blow on me, does anyone know why?

Yeah aftermarket kit, do you know if there is anything you need to do with the ballasts? also do they need to be mounted onto metal or anything?

from what i have been reading they should be mounted to the metal brackets, and then mounted to the chassis, so im now making some earth wire to ground the ballasts to the chassis as the mounting brackets just look awkward

Do you have a CANBUS interface with your HID kit? says it's required for a HID kit for fabia vrs'.. Would that be causing my bulb problem with not having one?

Fabia vRS isnt CANBUS as far as i`m aware. I got the cheapest set going when I had them, chucked them in and jobs a good `un.

The Ultra kits I have says:

did you earth the ballast to the chassis?

No, I didn't think the ballast had to be earthed (?)

I keep reading that they have to be earthed, dont know how true this is.... Ive made some wire today for mine to earth the ballast back plates

Oh have you uprated the fuse as they need to be uprated to 20amp i think, check if any fuses are blown

I still had a 5 amp when I tried the bulbs, but the fuse did not blow, but the bulb did :S

White is + on the car, I have not earthed anything just stuck the ballasts with double sided tape.

Fitted mine today, all worked first time. My kit includes the warning system canceler. Maybe thats your prob?

Ah! Got them working, it's down to a dodgy wire.. Still sometimes doesn't come on first time so have to take wire off when lights are on then plug back in

i had problem with my h-i-d they was cheap ones but i will get another kit soon
