Battery problem?

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Thanks to all the people who gave their advice for my rear windscreen problem. I have since had it cut out and rebonded back in, by a local company for £60 (exactly half of the quote Autoglass gave me). I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to cars and so on, so I appreciate everyone who takes the time to help.

I have a query about batteries and power. I recently installed a Sony CD player in the car, and I have noticed that the display on the stereo gets dimmer when the car lights are on (inside lights). Does this mean my stereo is using more power than my battery can provide? I noticed the lights on the speed dials also get a little dimmer when the stereo is turned on. The battery isn't old, I just found this a bit odd.

Any thoughts?

What is th Ah rating on the battery???.....If it says anything less than 60Ah then get a new one of 60Ah or higher!! The PAS pump really draws the power from the batteries and the current coldish weather won't help either... B)

I just read another post about batteries and checked the battery in my car, its 45AH. So I'm sure thats the problem, the extra load of the stereo is draining power away from other electrical equipment.

Yep!!!!!....... .. B)

The amount of times garages fit under capacity batteries to cars is not real!!!!

BTW if you have the same car as mine (looks like it) it came from the factory with a 60Ah (ish) battery fitted as standard!
