Anyone else used Celtic Tuning

Featured Replies

Has anyone else used Celtic Tuning to have there Skoda remapped.

I have used them for my civic 2.2 and my Fiat Grande Punto T-jet and they were both very good but I have not heard of any one with the 1.4tsi engine having it done by them.

I am hanging on for a while but am tempted to use them again as both times were faultless.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Anything VAG, keep well away from them.

I've delt direct with Celtic themselves at their Cornish HQ (Roche), very poor service when things go wrong.

You're location is Kent, so you've got lots of other mappers with a proven track record in VAG tuning near(ish) by.

APR, REVO, PTorque, Shark Performance are the only guys with proven software.

Jabbasport have just finished their R&D on theirs in the last few days. So might also be an option.

Stick to proven VAG tuners ad nota one size fits all company is my reccomendation. These engines have some strange tendancies and are not as simple to map as many other cars due to heat/cooling, spark and fueling issues.

Once sorted though, they are immense.

That does surprise me a bit but then I had no problems.

I think at the moment the revo remap looks the best bet as in another post it was said (it is not detectable by the main dealers)so that's good for any warranty problems.

I used Celtic tuning on mine.

I arranged 77 rare-earth-gems around the air intake, dressed in robes and pointy hat, drew 7 Celtic runes in the mud near the back wheels, and then chanted the hokey-decokey down the exhaust pipe for 7 hours.

After feasting on lentils, and offering thanks to the 7 moons of Ganymede, I discovered the car now does 700mph and 700mpg, at the same time!

OM.

it was a letter sent from a dealer saying a revo map could not be seen on there diagnostic software.

Ignore it, because its b"*llocks. If they plug into the new VAG network system it will flash up as modified.

However for most warrantly work there would be no need to plug in to the system so they can keep it quiet

this is true, the new system is a "live" online system that checks the version of the map on your car, and auto updates it with the latest map... probably why ***** map has just been wiped when she took her *car* into the dealers... (as I was writing this I realised thats proof they auto update, and removed her name and car incase the stealer is watching ;))

when I had mine serviced this system was used, and it auto updated the map for the misfire fix.

If the garage find any mods they have to enter it into the new system so every dealer can see that it has mods so you cant try changing garages if one catches on:(
